The formula to calculate total video frames is: Total Frames = (Hours × 3600 + Minutes × 60 + Seconds) × Frame Rate (FPS) + Extra Frames. For example, a 2-minute and 30-second video at 60 FPS contains: (150 seconds × 60 fps) = 9,000 total frames.
29.97 FPS (often called 30 FPS drop-frame) is an NTSC color broadcast standard introduced to maintain audio synchronization with television broadcast signals. At 29.97 FPS, 1,000 seconds of real time produces 29,970 frames. Standard non-drop 30 FPS runs at exactly 30.000 frames per second.
